Math: formulas inline and as blocks

You can drop math right into a sentence, like the Pythagorean theorem $a^2 + b^2 = c^2$ , or set it apart as a display equation:

x = \frac{-b \pm \sqrt{b^2 - 4ac}}{2a}

The quadratic formula

When you want to teach a result, the formula card lays out the equation with a legend explaining every variable:

Newton's second law

Physics: quantities with units

Reported measurements look right with proper units and uncertainty: gravitational acceleration at sea level is $9.81 \pm 0.02\,\mathrm{m/s^2}$ , and the speed of light is $2.998 \times 10^8\,\mathrm{m/s}$ .

Chemistry: reaction equations

Chemical equations use mhchem syntax, so arrows, subscripts, and states all render correctly:
